UCD Coaching Certificate

The Early Childhood Coaching Certificate at the University of Colorado Denver is offered in collaboration with the Colorado Coaching Consortium.  Designed around the Colorado Coaching Competencies, this 9-credit, 3-course series strengthens and enhances the early childhood professional's coaching practices through foundational coaching skills, practical hands-on experiences, peer networking, reflection, and self- awareness.  Each course is available for undergraduate and graduate level credit.  Find registration details on the University of Colorado ECE Coaching Certificate website.

For RBPD Training Finishers – UCD is offering the opportunity for students who have, or who will complete the RBPD training by the end of April, to register for course credit for the RBPD training and then take a modified, 2-credit version of the first course in the certificate series (ECED 4410/5410) to complete the first course in the certificate. This 2-credit course will run from April 13 to June 17, with the following meeting dates:

  • April 17, 4:30-6:00PM via Zoom
  • May 5, 5:00-9:00PM (in person)
  • May 6, 8:30AM-4:00PM (in person)
  • June 3, 8:30AM-4:00PM (in person)
  • June 14, 4:30-6:00PM via Zoom.

ECED 4410/5410  Using Coaching Skills in Early Childhood Settings 

This course will train early childhood staff using material from research-based sources and program experiences in an intentional and sequential coaching approach.

Identify effective ongoing support strategies for individuals providing coaching, including self-reflective practices, self-directed action, planning and goal setting, and managing progress and accountability.

ECED 4430/5430 Attuning for Personal and Organizational Change

This course is designed to support the coach in creating a social learning climate where a synergy of shared learning and reflective dialogue about practice are examined, analyzed and refined.
